Even though this painting is one of my Seascape series, it's really about color. Picking up the blue of the door in the antique, distressed cabinet worked very successfully to keep the normally powerful red of the wall from dominating the painting.
I thought the antique switch plate was a fun touch, as well. I'd like to say I found it in an old dwelling somewhere, but it actually came out of a friend's home, which I suspect he bought from a catalogue.
