Light in the West is unique.
The air is not only drier than the Midwest or East coast, but it's thinner at the higher elevations. Realistic art is the perfect technique for capturing the way it enhances my subjects, in both, the way it picks up the delicate highlights, as well as the way it glows in the reflected light of the the backlit areas. Like this stand of Aspen I found in a place called Kebler Pass, that connects Crested Butte, Colorado to the Aspen area over a hundred miles away.
