South Padre
Island, Texas. More than most of my seascapes in realistic art, "the Dunes" is a
painting of an actual place, as the scene out the window is a composite of many
photographs I took on a trip to the Texas Coast.
The old house interior,
of course, is an imaginary creation; a fantasy, really, created to capture the
light that was present in all the photos I'd taken, and invite the viewer into my
painting.
